Jason Taylor Signs With The Jets

The free-agent Taylor had been linked with the Jets for several weeks now, but had been waiting for the Dolphins to make an offer first, despite them telling him they would not make a decision until after draft. The 35 year-old Taylor had wanted to end his career as a Dolphin -- and especially didn't want to be seen leaving the franchise for such a bitter division rival -- but his apparent lack of a future in South Florida more or less forced his hand. Taylor's agent confirmed that his client has signed a one-year deal worth up to $4 million with incentives with the Jets. Taylor figures to line up as an outside linebacker in the Jets' 3-4 scheme, for a unit surprisingly bereft of pass-rushers given its status as the top-ranked defensive unit in the league last season. Now there is only one word to describe Jason Taylor in my mind now, traitor! He did the worst thing he could of possibly done, he went to our most hated rival, the New York Jets. One of the best players ever to play for the Miami Dolphins, and a guy who will probably go into the Hall of Fame as a Miami Dolphin just stabbed all his beloved fans right in the back. Jason Taylor was always the first one to bash on the Jets, talking about how much he hates his fans, and how he would never play for a team like the Jets and than he goes ahead and signs with them. This change of teams has to be one of the most shocking in sports since Brett Favre went from the Green Bay Packers to the Minnesota Vikings or when Johnny Damon went from the Boston Red Sox to the New York Yankees. I'm very frustrated and upset with Jason Taylor and hope he and the Jets have a horrible season, I know harsh words, but it's the truth.
